Routine in the Morning

Your alarm goes off, it’s early in the morning, and it’s time to get going. A thorough skincare routine is the best approach to wake up your skin. Consider it a complete breakfast; without it, your skin would not function properly. It nourishes and nourishes your skin, keeping it healthy, happy, and under control.

Oil Cleanser (Step 1)

In the evenings, we recommend employing a double cleaning procedure to remove makeup, SPF, and any other pollutants from the day. An oil-based cleanser and a foamy cleanser are used in double-cleansing. Because 1) the cleanser works on the surface of the skin and isn’t present enough to clog or sink into the skin 2) the oil in these cleansers is safe to use on any skin type, you don’t have to worry about an oil-based cleanser blocking your pores or creating breakouts. These oils will not make you feel clogged, oily, or as if you’re about to break out.

The oil cleanser is applied to a dry face, immediately over makeup, using dry hands. It’s rubbed into the skin, even over eye makeup, before being washed off. Make sure you’re rinsing all of the oil off of your skin before applying the foamy cleanser, and use a bit less oil in the morning than you would at night.

The Shangpree S-Energy Cleansing Gel will be used in this package.

This oil-based cleanser is actually a gel that melts onto the skin to remove makeup, oil-based impurities, and dirt while hydrating the skin. Lavender balances sebum and soothes skin, while oxygen promotes collagen production and is a natural anti-inflammatory. This is a great first-cleanser for all skin types, but especially sensitive and breakout-prone skin, because it is non-comedogenic despite being oil-based.

The second step is to use a foaming cleanser.

For several reasons, using a foamy cleanser first thing in the morning is vital. It removes any impurities that have accumulated overnight on your skin. Your skin produces oils while you sleep. Before you begin your routine, you should first balance your skin. Furthermore, starting your regimen with a clean canvas is preferable because it allows your products to absorb with less of a barrier of entry. You won’t get the best results if your toner is applied to skin that hasn’t been cleansed.

The SRB Enzyme Powder Wash will be used in this kit. Rice bran extract is used in this unique cleanser to gently cleanse and exfoliate skin for a brighter, softer complexion. Anti-inflammatory properties in rice bran extract aid in the healing of chapped and damaged skin. Due to natural amino acid surfactants, the dry cleanser maintains a low pH of 5.5, ensuring that it does not strip skin or damage the moisture barrier.

To use, moisten your skin with lukewarm water, add a small amount of water to your hands (about 2 tablespoons), and dispense about 1 gram of powder into your palm. Rub your hands together to make a foam out of the powder. Use small circular motions to massage onto wet skin. Rinse the face thoroughly, making sure to remove any cleaner residue, and pat the skin dry with a clean towel (unless you’re using an exfoliator). Additionally, the SRB Enzyme Powder Wash can be used as an exfoliator!

(Step 3) Exfoliator (1-3 times per week)

Exfoliate on a regular basis if you want your skin to be more luminous, glowing, and smooth so that products can be applied more readily. Exfoliation aids in the removal of dead skin cells from the surface of the skin and promotes cell turnover. It helps to even out skin tone, address hyperpigmentation, smooth our skin texture, and remove dead skin to prevent dirt and oils from being blocked within the pores, thus it can assist all skin types and concerns. This is a great time to do it in the morning. Your skin will renew and revitalize overnight if you exfoliate in the evening, thus some of your efforts will be lost.

To use, apply a dime-sized amount of product to your hands after cleansing on damp skin. Massage the face gently, paying special attention to sensitive areas and places that are frequently disregarded (jawline, around the nose, etc). (around the jawline, around the nose, and so on.) Scrubbing too hard might cause irritation and harm your skin more than it helps. Before patting the skin dry, carefully rinse the product. This scrub should be used in the mornings 1-3 times a week.

This kit will include Mizon Apple Smoothie Peeling Gel. This ultra-gentle exfoliating gel removes dead skin cells and grime from the skin without harsh chemicals or skin-irritating microbeads. Skin rejuvenation is aided by a combination of fruit and botanical components. Citrus extracts brighten skin, while papain, found in natural papaya extract, “digests” dead skin cells while keeping good tissue intact for quick and effective exfoliation. Apple extract contains natural AHAs that gently exfoliate skin, but it also works as an astringent, closing pores and helping to remove acne-causing germs. Dirt and dead skin are removed with care, leaving your skin silky smooth.

Toner is a type of ink that is (Step 4)

It’s time to get in shape. The second stage in your procedure should be to use a toner. A toner’s primary function is to regulate the pH of the skin while also gently removing dead skin cells. This is significant because when the skin’s pH is balanced and dead skin is removed, a better surface for serums and lotions is generated. Your routine will be less effective and your benefits will be less evident if you skip this phase.

To use, dab a dime-sized amount of toner onto a cotton pad. Make a sweeping motion with your hand across your face. Allow time for it to integrate before moving on to the next phase.

This kit will include the Be the Skin Botanical Nutrition Toner. An all-natural toner that balances the pH of the skin with botanicals and time-honored herbs. Assists in the skin’s preparation for following serums and lotions.

While washing your face is vital to remove dirt, makeup, and oil, it might deplete your skin’s natural oils. Charlotte suggests using a hydrating toner after cleansing to bring your skin back into balance. She continues, “Many toners are alcohol-based and drying, whereas in Korea, toners are all about hydration.” “Instead of stripping and drying out the face, the Korean skincare philosophy is to provide it with more hydration and nourishment.”

Toners should be used as one of the first steps in your routine on clean, dry skin because they are often quite liquid and absorb fast. You can use a cotton pad to brush it across your skin or pour some into your fingers and rub it into your skin.

Step 5: Make a big deal out of it.

In essence, it’s the initial step. Allow me to elaborate. It’s probable that you won’t recognize the following step in your program. Without an essence, a Korean skincare routine is incomplete. An essence is a liquid serum that aids in the absorption of substances by the skin. It softly hydrates the skin and absorbs quickly.

Apply on a cotton pad and gently pat into the skin, or softly pat into the skin with your hands. Patting the product onto your face will ensure that it is well absorbed and applied.

In this kit, Olivarrier Dual Moist Hyaluron Essence will be used. This concentrated essence is a thick serum-like product with squalane, panthenol, hyaluronic acid, oats, broccoli, and ceramides, all of which help to soothe and hydrate skin. It contains tiny hyaluronic acid, which moisturizes the skin from the inside out by penetrating deep into the pores. Squalane goes much farther, providing not just nourishment but also protection and strength to the skin. Madecassoide and ceramides assist in the regeneration of the skin’s barrier, allowing it to recover more quickly. What were the results? The skin is nourished and hydrated, and it obtains the nutrients it needs to heal swiftly.

(Step 6) Using a Sheet Mask (1-3 times per week)

Sheet masks are designed to provide deep treatment for skin problems by combining specialized ingredients to achieve specific results. Do you want to lighten your skin, decrease fine lines and wrinkles, treat acne, or hydrate it? Use a sheet mask that is right for you. These allow you to customize your skincare routine based on the demands of your skin on that given day. These are suitable for use both in the morning and at night.

Remove the mask from the package and open it to use it. Place the mask over your face after unfolding it. If the packaging specifies a time limit (typically 10-30 minutes), make sure to remove it once that time has passed. Remove the mask and massage the leftover essence into your skin with a gentle massage. It is not a good idea to wash your skin. You can either carry on with your routine and apply your serums, or you can skip the serums and go straight to the eye cream step. It all depends on how much time you have to spare and how your skin is feeling that day.

This kit includes the Peach & Lily Good Skin Day Mask. This mask offers moisture deep into the skin, vital minerals and vitamins, a blast of antioxidants, and brightening agents for a gorgeous glow and the ultimate good skin day. When you apply this mask to your face, you’ll notice that it cools your skin, which aids in the reduction of inflammation, which is a significant contributor to bad skin. In these premium sheet masks, we avoided synthetic scents, synthetic colors, alcohol, parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, and formaldehyde. We then loaded them with potent substances that produce immediate and long-term results.

Serums are the seventh step.

It’s now all about you. You can layer one or more serums during the serum step of your routine to achieve your skincare goals. Serums are concentrated treatments containing ultra-small molecules that target specific skin issues. This is where you can tailor your routine to your time constraints as well as your skin’s requirements. If you only have a limited amount of time, apply one serum during the day and another in the evening. If you have a busier morning, apply once in the morning and both at night.

It’s genuinely a customized step that will allow you to attain your skincare goals and not take up too much time. Another advantage of these products is that their light texture allows them to soak fast into the skin.

 Detoxifying Oil (Makeup Remover)

Step one begins with cleansing oil and is the first of a two-step process known as double-cleansing (a makeup-removing formula that gently breaks down and dissolves makeup, grime, and oil, then washes them away cleanly).

The application is the same whether your washing oil comes in the form of oil with a pump or a balm that melts into the skin: Apply a quarter-size dollop to dry skin (yes, it must be dry) and massage for 20 seconds before rinsing. Cleansing oils are water-soluble, which means they won’t leave an oily, pore-clogging residue behind.

A cleanser that is based on water

Cho claims that the double-cleanse is the greatest skin-changing discovery she’s made in her K-Beauty journey, and with good reason: It gets your face really, very clean without stripping it or aggravating it because only gentle solutions are used. So, after washing away your oil, cleanse again with your preferred water-based face wash, which might be a cream (for dry skin), a foam (for oily skin), or a gel (for combo skin) (for combination skin).

 Use an exfoliator

Physical and chemical exfoliators are the two types of exfoliators available. A physical exfoliant is gritty, abrasive, or nubby and aims to physically slough away dead skin cells for a smoother surface (think scrubs, washcloths, and facial brushes).

The only (significant) disadvantage? Physical exfoliators are typically far too abrasive for the majority of individuals, particularly those with sensitive skin, as they can cause micro-tears in the skin’s surface. Fun! If you insist on exfoliating physically, Charlotte suggests using a microfiber cloth or a mild mask with natural sugars. You might also simply use a chemical exfoliant.

Chemical formulations use skin-loving acids to remove dead skin cells, smooth bumps, clear pores, and reduce discoloration in a gentle manner. The advantages are numerous, and they are usually far less abrasive than a manual scrub. To be extra safe, use BHA acids (beta hydroxy acids, such as salicylic acid) for oily, acne-prone skin and AHA acids (alpha-hydroxy acids, such as lactic or glycolic acid) for sensitive or dry skin only once a day, preferably at night.

While washing your face is necessary for eliminating debris, makeup, and oil, it can also rob your skin of its natural oils. Charlotte recommends using a moisturizing toner after cleansing to restore equilibrium to your skin. “Many toners are alcohol-based and drying, whereas toners in Korea are all about hydration,” she explains. “The Korean skincare philosophy is to offer more hydration and nourishment to the skin rather than stripping and drying it out.”

Toners are typically very watery and absorb quickly into the skin, so they should be used as one of the first steps in your routine on clean, dry skin. You can either swipe it across your skin with a cotton pad or pour some into your palms and press it into your skin.

Everything comes down to this:

Now that your skin has been washed and prepped, you can go ahead and try all of the exciting treatment options. What you use in the next four phases is entirely up to you (here is where the customization really shines), although Charlotte thinks essence is a must-have in a Korean skincare routine. Essences in Korea are usually liquid, comparable to toners, and can be applied with your hands or as a spray mist.

You exclaim, “BUT WAIT!” You could think, “Aren’t toners and essences the same thing?” Yes and no, respectively. They’re very similar in many aspects (consistency and packaging), however, an essence would be utilized to supplement what a toner lacks. “Toner will rehydrate your skin,” Cho continues, “but essences typically contain a concentrated active ingredient that goes beyond what toner can provide,” such as brighteners, softeners, and plumpers. Apply them over your toner, or use them in place of toner if you don’t have any. It’s important to remember that this is a menu, not a recipe.

Masking Sheets

Oh, how I adore sheet masks. Another K-Beauty favorite. If you have an afternoon to kill on the weekend, treat yourself to a mask, but don’t obsess over it otherwise. Sheet masks come in a variety of shapes and patterns, but they all serve the same purpose: hydration. “Because the majority of your skincare evaporates as it dries,” Charlotte continues, “the assumption behind K-Beauty is that the more you hydrate and layer, the more you lock in those components and the better effects you’ll see.”

Ampoule/Serum

You’ve probably heard of a serum, but have you heard of an ampoule? Maybe not so much. So, here’s a rundown of some quick facts: An ampoule (also known as a booster) contains a higher concentration of active ingredients and is typically used only when you really need it, such as after a night out or a bad night’s sleep. A serum contains concentrated active ingredients that address a specific concern, such as dullness, dark spots, fine lines, and so on. Serums/ampoules should be applied first, before creams, lotions, or oils, because they are thicker than essences but thinner than moisturizers.

Cream for the eyes

Although an eye cream is too heavy to wear under makeup during the day, it is an excellent source of hydration for fine wrinkles at night. Gently pat your weakest finger—specifically, your ring finger—into your skin all-around your eyes (including over your lids and under your eyes).

a hydrating cream

Listen, moisturizer is an inescapable part of any skincare routine since your face, like your body, requires this final layer of hydration to function correctly. It not only acts as a barrier to keep all of your moisturizing products in place, but it also helps to restore the health of your skin. Combination skin requires a Korean skincare routine.

Choose a thicker cream formula if you have dry skin, and a gel formula if you have oily or acne-prone skin. If you’re a bit of everything, try an emulsion, which is a K-Beauty mix of a gel and a cream. Emulsions are silky and light, but thick enough to deeply hydrate the skin. They should be used both morning and night, especially during the winter. Combination skin requires a Korean skincare routine.

Sunscreen

Because skin cancer, as well as dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and accelerated aging, are frightening, here’s the other phase in your skincare routine that you can’t skip. Even if you don’t like the way sunscreen feels on your skin or are worried that it may cause breakouts, this isn’t an excuse because there are so many options that will suit your skin type.

In K-Beauty, it doesn’t matter whatever sunscreen you use as long as you apply it every day. You’re effectively undoing all of your previous skincare efforts if you don’t protect your face from sun damage. Sheet masks aren’t inexpensive. Serums are not inexpensive. Don’t forget to use sunscreen and don’t throw it away.
